Call for DMP logo and mark

The Digital Media Project (DMP) is a not-for-profit organisation registered in Geneva with the Mission to “promote continuing successful development, deployment and use of Digital Media that respect the rights of creators and rights holders to exploit their works, the wish of end users to fully enjoy the benefits of Digital Media and the interests of various value-chain players to provide products and services, according to the principles laid down in the Digital Media Manifesto”.

In its first 5-year term the DMP has developed a full specification of the Interoperable DRM Platform (IDP), the Open Source reference implementation of the IDP (Chillout®), various demo implementations of innovative DRM services such as WIM TV and a number of results related to its mission.

As the DMP has now entered its second 5-year term and needs an effective logo and mark, the DMP is hereby issuing a “Call for DMP logo and mark.

Those wishing to respond to this Call should take the following points into account

  1. DMP is seeking an original graphic logo and a mark that includes lettering of “Digital Media Project” and “DMP”
  2. Participation in the call is open to any interested party
  3. The proposed DMP logos and marks should
    1. Have an innovative look
    2. Convey the main purpose of DMP without the need for lengthy text
    3. Be of easy use on both paper and electronic media (web pages, social network groups etc.)
    4. Be provided as .gif, .jpg, SVG
  4. Submissions should be sent by email to Touradj Ebrahimi (Touradj.Ebrahimi@epfl.ch) by 2009/06/25T23:59GMT
  5. The DMP reserves the right not to accept any of the logos and marks received
  6. The author of the selected logo and mark shall release all relevant rights to the Digital Media Project
  7. The author of the selected logo and mark will be awarded a nominal prize of 300 CHF (~200 EUR, 260 USD).
  8. The DMP will acknowledge the authorship of the selected logo and mark on its web site
